WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Many of us experience times in our lives when we feel under pressure and find it hard to cope. Counselling can help you understand your thoughts and feelings so that YOU can arrive at your own decisions.
WHAT COUNSELLING IS NOT
It is not about telling you what to do OR judging you.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
A confidential, honest, relaxed and safe environment where you can be heard and express your feelings through talking, creative work and play.
There are many reasons for seeking counselling. You may be feeling stressed, anxious or depressed because of personal, relationship or work related problems. You may have had a sudden life crisis such as bereavement, redundancy or breakdown in a relationship.
Counselling offers an opportunity for you to explore such difficulties in a safe, confidential setting, with someone who will not advise or judge you but who is trained to help you gain insight into your feelings.
Definition of counselling.
Counselling takes place when a counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose.
